Brothers Day Out!

It was the day Two sets of Brothers saved the day for their respective teams. I will surely remember 10th of February as Cricket Brothers Day!!

Initially it was Micheal and David Hussey who batted well to avoid their team from handing over the CBS trophy to the Black Caps. David scored 79 before being castled by Ian O brein and his elder sibling was more flambouyant in his 75 not out which included two sixes and four fours.

But the most ideals display of brother camadarie in game was that of "The Pathans of Baroda". Irfan bowled a superb spell of 1 for 34 in his four overs. While Yusuf slowed things down for a rampaging Sri Lanka with his 2 for 23, which is a really respectable tally in a Twenty20 game.

But the action of the day was their batting. Yusuf and Irfan came at a time when it seemed certain India were oncourse to an embarrasing defeat due to the SL spinners. But Yusuf thrashed Bandara for 17 in one of the overs. The way he was batting and the look in his face seemed to me as if he was playing gully cricket. One would have imagined that Irfan would take singles and let Yusuf do the damage. But LO and behold, it was the Irfan bhai who did the max damage thrashing two sixes and fours. If one would observe, Yusuf would talk to his yopunger bro after every ball bowled and calm him down if he would miss any shot.

With the IPL-II and Wortd Twenty20 coming up, these two will be clashing and bonding once again to prop up their teams.

Three Cheers to the 'The Pathans of Baroda'!!!
