If there is any1 delighted with this news it will be the Force India team, who have stayed on with the FIA. Finally they'll get a chance @ the championship points {available only for teams who finish on 1-8th positions!} As the champion teams leave F1.
For the un-initiated and the un-informed eight teams from the Formula 1 racing namely- BMW, Brawn, Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Toyota and the two Red Bull teams, have announced their divorce from FIA- the official governing body of F1. They have formed an independent body called the FOTA, claiming - "This series will have transparent governance, one set of regulations, encourage more entrants and listen to the wishes of the fans, including offering lower prices for spectators worldwide, partners and other important stakeholders." This was bound to happen with the FIA coming up with ridiculous rules. Specially the one banning expenditure after a certain amount. Agreed the rule was to safeguard F1 from the woes of reccession, but with KERS and all the aero-dynamics being tested, forcibly curbing expenditure would be ridiculous.
Anyways, managing FOTA will be no cakewalk. True now the car owners can look forward to more flexibility. But think of it- can 8 rivals come together to maintain a league. Will they manage to pull out a person who will act nuetrally and not make it another copy of Bernie Ecclenstone and Max Mosley's FIA? I hope they do away with the same-fuel and same-engine rule.
Dhoni blamed for T20
It's but natural the captain of a team is blamed for bad run. But I would like to stand up and defend the skipper and his boys. It's but natural when something goes wrong, the gossip dadas and aunties come up with pin-point blasphemies. Be it terrorist attacks to cricket matches. What next? Nobody there to answer. It's so easy to burn effigies. But can't we not have faith and bacj our boys. They have been shepherded from a tour of NZ to IPL to the World T20.
It's easy for us to give opinions from our armchairs. But chew on this -
- The physical fatigue- each of these boys have toured from Sri Lanka to New Zealand to the IPL in the last three months. And then to England with a hostile weather. They are bound to be fatigued. Each circket game not only involves workout on the field but also the training and preparation.
- Mental fatigue - Most visible on Dhoni. As a captain of the Indian team and CSK, he has had to appear for interviews before and after each of these matches. He might as well take up the job of a spokesperson after retirement.
- Team dynamics- The Indian squad was divided and playing each other in the IPL. Therefore thier weaknesses were exposed to their foreign couterparts. Too bad we couldn't do the reverse. And Dhoni couldn't exactly figure out the right combination as well.
And if anyone still wants to protest, then go and pour your heart out to Lalit Modi, Niranjan Shah & CO. These people are running the show, making our boys play on- showering money around so no onw raises a finger, banned selectors and plauers from talking to the press.(while flashing their pearly whites on the camera, hogging the limelight).
90% quota for SSC students
It does come as a relief for the SSC students as ICSE CBSE students do get better marks. But then is this all the governent can do? Why isn't there aany drive like recruiting and training faculty? Improving conditions for teachers? If there was a strong body of teachefrs sprea out in colleges, and a good number of colleges, this problem would never arise.
But no, they will only resort to those measures which corners votes. Lik duh, u'll say, but long term measures also bear fruits someday, don't they?
Pakistan v/s South Africa
I really feel sad for the Proteas, the eternal chokers. India could've nailed them too, but Pakistan took over from where India left out. The batsman played smartly to override the South African- spin and short-pitched attack. But Pakistan countered with a wicket to wicket line too. South Africa played out 50 dot balls! A murderous thing to do in T20's(which btw India has to learn too.)
But it's still sad to see such a powerful team to be eliminated so clinically. Even so by a team which was defeated comprehensively by England and India, who were crushed by South Africa!
T20 is a real roller-coaster of a phenomena to have hit the cricketing world.
Coming up next: T20 a roller coaster, and management lessons from it.

Re: F1 split
Who’s being stupid, the FOTA or the FIA? We all will know the answer pretty soon.
Btw what kind of champak would prefer watching a series with some Campos Metas compete with Force India & Williams when we have another championship with true champions, just because the latter is not backed by the FIA? Not to mention outrageous rules like technical freedom depending on one’s budget in the championship controlled by the FIA... Go sleep with the ass Max Mosley.
People say it’s a selfish move by the FOTA members. I don’t give a shi*.
Btw have you ever wondered how a fashion show would look sans the glamour??...watch F1 the next season & you will get an idea.
Re: 90% quota for SSC students
I strongly oppose any kind of quota system….BUT…
I was wondering: Why don’t we have any ICSE/CBSE colleges & if such colleges do exist, why ICSE/CBSE students want to get into Sate Board affiliated colleges?? ”NO OPTION” some will say…
Exactly!!Then we want such options, don’t we? Finish off this matter na..Pak gaya abhi
